I just want to say a huge thank you to the head chef and manager that worked from 4pm on 7.2.19.My dad recently had a stroke and could not remember what the name of the curry is that he liked, so my mum mentioned this to the kitchen staff and asked if they could help. A young lady then came to my parents table with 5 small pots of curry so that my dad could try each 1 with a popadom. He was delighted and we now know that it is the vindaloo he, likes so thank you so much from 1 very happy daughter.We shall see you again very soon
I always have a a good visit when I go to The Watchmaker, especially when I go with my daughter as there's always a warm and friendly atmosphere with both the staff and customers alike. :-)
Food is good in Watchmaker. Staff are friendly. Only thing stopping me scoring higher is that furnishings look a bit tired and place could do with a spruce up.
Went for a quick bite to eat, food hot, arrived quickly & standard of meal good.
The staff in the Watchmaker are very approachable, personable, helpful and friendly, They're kept very busy most afternoons and evenings. The Watchmaker is a very popular easily accessible venue for all. The older age group are present for the whole day, with a greater influx of younger people of an evening, particularly in groups. It is popular for party groups on large tables very often. I would recommend this pub, for a relaxed personable atmosphere, (though the carpets take a lot of wear due to the sheer numbers that visit).Only parking for 2 cars outside, as most space is given to a taxi rank. A medium sized car park is available 4 or 5 shops along to the left, (if you are facing the pub). Reasonable rates.My only complaint would be that a huge number of able customers use the only disabled toilet, (which is the only toilet on the ground floor), instead of using the ladies or gents, (which are up two flights of stairs). I have often queued outside for up to 10 minutes, whilst for example 2 mature women were applying make-up, doing their hair and changing their outfits! A wait nearly always ends with a healthy, able bodied person emerging!Often times the toilet has been left in a disgraceful state, with sozzled men having peed all over the seat and the floor too! If reported to staff, they do come and clean it straight away, but this requires the disabled person to wait even longer to use their restroom. It really is time that Weatherspoons came up with a solution to this awful problem, of selfish/lazy people, using a facility that is only intended for genuine disabled people!....Maybe provide a lift for all the 'couldn't care less' brigade. Try banning them for a month, and tell them why in no uncertain terms. It is so wrong for people with disabilities to be so badly inconvenienced in this way!Come on Weatherspoons, please get this problem sorted, for all disabled customers. I eagerly await your response.
